Ground breaking!

Today marks the ground breaking of the Link light rail route for BVE Trainsim. I’ve created a test section of the NB tunnel between the Pine St Stub Tunnel (PSST) and Capitol Hill station. Right now there’s only the gradients and no curves yet. I’m figuring out how to translate the actual plans to fit within the constraints of BVE: no vertical curves, everything is done in 25 meter blocks, etc.

Right now it looks nothing like the real thing, just a track floating in the sky. In fact, the real thing doesn’t exist yet. Sound Transit hasn’t begun tunneling on University Link. So will I beat Sound Transit in completing U-Link? Given that U-Link opens in 2016, I have plenty of time.
